Julian Gao is a robotics engineer with expertise in motion planning, control, and robotics learning. He has led the development of robotics projects from the ground up, including a client-facing robotics initiative at a startup. His work spans motion planning for autonomous driving, where he has focused on improving lane-following behaviors and trajectory smoothness. He is now shifting towards end-to-end methods to solve these problems.
Julian has also set up reinforcement/imitation learning frameworks for robotics. Guided by a philosophy of constant growth, he has a mindset as always stay “under training”, believes in living “analog” in a digital world, and is motivated by a personal goal to become an athlete.
